Chatbot: How chats are caculated

It's good to know that Quriobot subscriptions work with counting the number of chats a bot has and how they compare to Completed and Opens

  • Chats are the number of times that a bot starts chatting:
    • A chat is counted when the bot starts chatting, which means also a full conversation is counted as just 1 chat
    • Chats will be cumulated from all the bots on your Dashboard, which can be on multiple websites;
    • The chat limit is calculated per month;
    • To specify:
      Scenario Does the chat count?
      All chats in Preview mode (URL ends with ?mode=preview) No, the chat doesn't count
      Soft-start is in place, a user clicks red 'X' No, the chat doesn't count -> Quriobot didn't start a chat
      Soft-start is in place, a user clicks 'the button to start the chat Yes, the chat counts -> Quriobot started a chat
      Soft-start is not in place, Quriobot automatically starts the conversation but user clicks red 'X' Yes, the chat counts -> Quriobot started a chat
      Soft-start is not in place, Quriobot automatically starts chatting and the user does everything else aside from clicking the red ‘X’ Yes, the chat counts -> Quriobot started a chat
      Soft-start is in place but Quriobot starts automatically after x milliseconds. After Quriobot started chatting, the user clicks red ‘X' Yes, the chat counts -> Quriobot started a chat

      When the option Store chat before jump is chosen in the Control Room (after configuring a 'Next' jump) Yes, the chat counts 
  • Opens, as shown on the Dashboard, are the number of interactions with the bot. These can all be found in the results
  • Completed chats are those chats that triggered an Exit (via the Exit Step or configuring that as a Jump-to event) or Redirect (to another webpage) in the bot.

Note: To make sure that only human chats are counted (and not, for example, automated search-indexing-bots that crawl the internet) we have the reCAPTCHA option on the Advanced tab in the middle Behaviour column.

How limits are applied

When you reach 80% of the monthly quota, an email notification is sent to your organization's email address.

When you reach 100%:

  • on the free plan, your bot will start showing the Quriobot message to create an account
  • on the paid plan, your bot will stop functioning (become invisible if you have put it on your website)
